Construction of toilets
We have been implementing a project based on urgent emergency requirement to provide permanent household toilets for the victims of the Uttarakhand cloud burst and calamity. Other than food, access to proper sanitation is the prime necessity of these families for good. So we have been taking all possible steps to help them in the hour of need with the help of Swajal Pariyojna Uttarkashi. We have constructed more that 300 household toilets in Bhatwari, Dunda and Chinyalisaur blocks of Uttarkashi district.
BCC Programme
MFA has been conducting Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Program in villages where toilet construction is going on for the total sanitation campaign in the community under the banner of Uttarkashi Sanitation Project. The Program has so far witnessed good community participation. The participants not only include the beneficiaries but also include other people from the villages. We have been regularly approaching individuals and community through this program for facilitating sustainable behaviour change on sanitation by raising awareness.
